Adam Richard Sandler the movie stalwart was born on 9th September 1966. This American comedian screenwriter, director, producer, actor and musician earned a worldwide fame with his creative power. Adam Sandler indeed has the soul of an artist. After he earned fame as a popular Saturday Night Live Cast member, he has worked in films where his brilliance in comic, romantic and dramatic roles reached great heights. To many, this famous Hollywood actor is known by the nickname "THE SAND MAN".

He excelled in performance in films like Punch-Drunk Love (2002), Spanglish (2004), and Reign Over Me (2007). Adam Sandler was even one of the hottest performers of the MTV game show Remote Control, where he appeared as "Trivia Delinquent" or "Stud Boy."

In the year 2003, Sandler made his life long marital promises with the well-known actor Jacqueline Samantha Titone. Now they are the proud parents of Sadie Madison Sandler who was born to them on 6th May 2006.

It was in the year 1989 that Sandler's success was honored for the first time for the character he played in Going Overboard. In 1995, he appeared in Billy Madison and there was no looking back after that. Sandler has always been a successful comedian and his performances in Happy Gilmore (1996) and The Wedding Singer (1998) are indeed worth appraisal. He acted remarkably in The Waterboy (1998), and reached box-office superstardom.

Some of Sandler's early movies have been much detested by movie critics, but most of his recent works like Punch-Drunk Love (2002) received impressive positive reviews. Critics say Sandler's talent has been wasted in the early films with poor scripts and loosely knit characters. His role in Punch-Drunk Love has been so outstanding that he was nominated for the Golden Globe – one of the most prestigious film awards.
